Choosing kitchen appliances
When you are fitting a new kitchen you will have a specific design and style in mind and your kitchen appliances should compliment this. As well as being attractive to look at, your appliances should be high quality whilst being within your budget.
Each of your kitchen appliances should have the features you require to enable you to perform everyday tasks efficiently such as your washing machine or dishwasher. Considering the programmes each appliance has before purchase so that you know that the product will fulfil your everyday requirements. For instance, if you like to do a small amount of washing each day that only needs a low temperature wash, you must make sure that your washing machine has the programme for this. The same principle applies to all your kitchen appliances as they are one of the major purchases of your kitchen.
When you are selecting your oven and hob you will have to consider whether you want gas or electric, as well as having the required connections as well as supply if you are considering gas. There are different types of hob to consider and you should decide what your preference is before purchasing your kitchen.
The colour, style and design of your kitchen appliances are of the utmost importance as they will determine the appearance of your kitchen. For a contemporary kitchen you could choose built in kitchen appliances so that you can create a minimalist feel, with splashes of bright colour in accessories. Chrome or stainless steel is very popular and is stylish as well as maintaining its appearance over time.
Your refrigerator is one of the main appliances in your kitchen and there are many styles to choose from. You may have a small kitchen which doesn't have much space for a large refrigerator, so you could consider a separate fridge and freezer which will fit under your worktop, or a slim line fridge freezer that will fit into a tight space. For a large family it may be an option to have an American fridge freezer which will hold all your groceries, saving on time spent shopping.
Before deciding which style of kitchen you want it is important to know which kitchen appliances are necessary to you and which features you will find essential. You can then go on to choose the relevant style and colours to match your kitchen. Much of your choice will depend upon the size of your kitchen and the amount of time that you will spend in there.

Know Your Kitchen Appliances Questions

What are all of your kitchen appliances?
and how often do you cook?
I have an oven, stove, microwave, bread machine, slow cooker, toaster, magic bullet, hand chopper, mandolin, hand mixer and a newly added food processor. I cook 1-2 times a day. I used to only have an oven, stove and microwave... it feels weird having all of these tools to do things for me, like I don't even know where to start using them! I do use the bread machine a lot though.
Oh I forgot ice cream maker too! I used it about 5 times and have left it for the past few months sitting all alone.
I mainly use my magic bullet to make pestos and salsa. I nor another friend have had any luck chopping anything. You end up with some mash and large chunks if you try to chop something like an onion. Also, when I put it in the microwave like on the commercial with a sauce, the lid cracked the first time. It's okay for small random jobs but nothing spectacular like on the commercials.
I have an oven, stove, microwave, bread machine, slow cooker, toaster, blender, food processer, stand mixer, hand mixer, george foreman grill, electric griddle, and an ice cream maker. I use them all! I love my bread machine, stand mixer and ice cream maker the best. The food processor gets the least amount of action because I have a nice set of knives and figure it's faster to hand chop rather than schlep out an appliance.
