I have been blogging for about six months now and learning more and more as I go. Before this blog, I had zero experience or knowledge about publishing on the web and the issues that come along with that. One of the things that I have learned that is really important is having a good web hosting service. I have to admit, I didn't even know what a web hosting service was until after I was blogging. I was using one but didn't know what it was. The service I started with and still use is Blogspot.com. Basically I started with them because they are free and they make getting started easy. But, there are limits to what I can do here and sometimes I wonder if there is a better service out there with more options. I have gotten to know some other bloggers and read about their problems with their web hosting service. Two issues that come up often are down time and capacity. Lately, I've come across more and more blogs who are temporarily unavailable because the servers they are on are down or they have gone over their capacity limit. It's really disappointing to go to a favorite blog or website and find that they are unavailable because of these issues. And maybe they do not even realize right away that their pages cannot be viewed.

I learned about this site online where you can find out about many web hosting services in one place. I can read web hosting reviews there and find out what real customers are saying about the services they have used. That way, I can learn from other people's experiences whether bad or good, before making a decision. They also have a web hosting blog there with lots of really informative articles posted for those who want to be more informed about the ins and outs of web hosting and what's going on in the industry. And it really is an industry. There is so much info in one place and it's all very readable and well-organized
